July Heat!

30 June 2017

You’d be forgiven for thinking that after the frenzy of events in June, such as the triumphant return of Kraków Days, in July we would get a holiday from cultural events. But you couldn’t be further from the truth: the hot month features wide-reaching events and significant exhibitions alongside traditional summertime urban picnics, outdoor stages and film screenings. Events held in July have long focused on international cooperation and cultural exchange, which have a particular significance this year: between 2 and 12 July, the ICE Kraków Congress Centre hosts the 41st session of UNESCO World Heritage Committee! Kraków and Poland’s special guests will be able to join audiences at events including the Jewish Culture Festival, EtnoKraków / Crossroads, the 30th anniversary ULICA Street Theatre Festival, the Festival of Polish Music, the Summer Jazz Festival…

The latest exhibition at the National Museum in Krakow takes a fresh look at our country’s collective memory, with the title “#heritage” referring to the UNESCO session. The Kraków Branch of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers presents numerous exhibitions at prestigious locations throughout the city under the banner “Kraków Artistic Meetings 2017 – CONFIGURATIONS. Painting Sculpture Drawing”, featuring works by hundreds of artists. Culture and the arts – and fun and entertainment! – provide temptations from all directions.

Let’s not make them wait!
