The organisers wanted the festival to seamlessly combine the local and the international aspect, with the Kazimierz district on the one hand, and the esteemed guests and exquisite repertoire on the other.
This year, the programme focuses on the patron's compositions: a selection of Songs Without Words will be presented by the piano trio Krzysztof Katana (violin), Adam Krzeszowiec (cello) and Anna Krzeszowiec (piano), as well as the pianist Andrew Yang in his recital. The overtures Ruy Blas and Hebrides will be arranged for four instruments by the violinist Piotr Marciak, the cellist Tomasz Wyroba and the pianists Ellen Braslavsky and Vassa Shevel.
On the tohetr hand, the guitarist Marcin Dylla will go beyond Mendelssohn's oeuvre, combining compositions by Silvius Weiss, the best-paid musician in the band of Augustus II the Strong, with Astor Piazzolla's Latino tone. The cello and piano ensemble FudalaRot Duo will draw on the history and heritage of Kazimierz with works by Ernest Bloch (including the triptych From Jewish Life and Three Pictures from a Hasidic Life).
