On May evenings, the Botanical Garden ofg the Jagiellonian University resounds not only with bird trills but also with the voices of the Kraków Opera soloists. The flowers, the greenery and all the May nature will become the scenery of opera gala evenings featuring the most beautiful melodies from operas and operettas by Giuseppe Verdi, Georges Bizet, Johann Strauss II and Emmerich Kálmán. The programme will be rounded off by excerpts from musicals and film music, including Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera and Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson’s Mamma Mia!
Performing at the Botanical Garden will be: Iwona Socha – soprano, Zuzanna Caban – soprano, Agnieszka Cząstka-Niezgódka – mezzo-soprano, Jarosław Bielecki – tenor and Adam Szerszeń – baritone accompanied by the Kraków Opera Orchestra led by Piotr Sułkowski.
