On May 11, 2024, the final event of the Makkabi // Still Standing project will take place, gathering participants and spectators at the former stadium of the Jewish sports club Makkabi, now the grounds of KS Nadwiślan. Together, we will participate in an artistic action commemorating this historic place. It's a unique opportunity to engage in a cultural act that not only promotes physical activity but also restores the memory of the Jewish history of this place, often unknown. The event is open and you can join as participants or spectators.
We warmly invite you to join us in honoring the heritage of this place together on May 11!

There are no age restrictions or requirements for experience in choreography or movement in public spaces. The project is open to all aged 15 and above, even for those living outside Kraków, thanks to bilingual facilitation in Polish and English.

Programme:
5:00 PM - 6:30 PM - performative action at the stadium with the participation of Weronika Pelczyńska and Monika Szpunar and workshop participants, supported by Aleksandra Janus, culminating in the joint suspension of a temporary banner in the stadium space.

The Still Standing project has a rich history beginning in 2020 by Weronika Pelczyńska, Aleksandra Janus, and Monika Szpunar. Its aim is to commemorate places associated with Polish-Jewish history through movement and dance as tools of remembrance. This year's edition focuses on the former Makkabi stadium, involving the local community in the creative process through workshops and meetings (in April and May of this year).
