What a Night

Sometimes music only comes to life when the summer’s day comes to an end – and that’s certainly the case on Jazz Night. Music starts before dusk at the Small Market Square, where the trio comprising the Italian pianist Roberto Magris and the saxophonists Maciej Sikała and Marcin Ślusarczyk pay homage to Janusz Muniak, Ewa Bem appears with Andrzej Jagodziński’s quartet, and the Danish bassist Ida Nielsen is accompanied by Funkbots. The Kraków Philharmonic resounds with Italian jazz, and the representatives of the Italian Peninsula are joined by Polish musicians. The main protagonist of the gigs at the Białoprądnicki Manor is the saxophonist Marek Pospieszalski, accompanied by the Radical Polish Ansambl, in a duo as part of Malediwy and alongside the DJ Daniel Drumz. The outdoor stage at the Nowa Huta Cultural Centre presents the programme Swing Revisited, featuring Stanisław Soyka and Arek Skolik. Music from all corners of the globe also resounds in the courtyard of the MOCAK Museum of Contemporary Art, at Radio Kraków, the Potocki Palace and the Kraków Cultural Forum, and at Globus, Piwnica pod Baranami, Alchemia, Harris, Strefa and Stary Port clubs.
