Summer in the city and by the... water? In Krakow this is possible! We will discover the delights of swimming pools, bathing areas and beaches in our city and its immediate surroundings. First, we will visit the fairly new Zakrzówek Park, which was opened last year. The infrastructure at the former quarry site in Debniki encompasses five swimming pools of varying depth, including a children's paddling pool, walking paths, exercise areas, ping-pong tables, swings, picnic areas and ą barbecue zone – all in the scenery of the picturesque Twardowski Rocks. The Bagry Reservoir in Podgórze with its sandy beach and a view of the body of water full of sailboats also has a lot of charm. Here you can hire water equipment, visit two marinas and bathe with your dog in the specially designated area. In eastern Krakow, you will find Nowa Huta's Przylasek Rusiecki with a leisure area, beach volleyball courts, a playground and a floating children's pool Admission to all the above-mentioned facilities is free of charge. Within the Krakow Metropolis, we will visit further (this time paid) places ideal for lovers of relaxation by the water. Particularly popular among Krakow residents is the Kryspinów Reservoir, colloquially known as Kryspinów (Liszki Commune) – an ideal place to relax in the open air and spend time amongst nature. We will also visit the Beaver’s Bayou (Niepołomice Commune) with its large sandy beach,̨ beach volleyball court and children's playground. Slightly farther, in Trzebinia, we will be enticed by the Balaton bathing area and beach in the former quarry site. Today this area offers a few swimming pools of varying depth, including a separate area for toddlers. All the above-mentioned bathing areas are covered by lifeguards. The bathing season started in June and will last until September.
