African rhythms, energy, dance and a musical journey straight to the roots of rhythm!

On 20 September, we invite you to a very special concert by Moribaya — an international, multicultural collective of artists from Poland, Australia and Burkina Faso. Joining them on stage this evening will be a very special guest: balafon and djembe player Drissa Dembele (Burkina Faso / France).

Get ready for an evening filled with sunshine, hypnotic rhythms and the extraordinary sounds of traditional West African instruments. This is going to be one of those concerts where sitting still will be nearly impossible!

Moribaya is a unique presence on the Polish music scene, bringing together musicians from different cultural backgrounds across West Africa and drawing inspiration from the musical traditions of Burkina Faso, Guinea, Mali and Côte d’Ivoire.

Their music combines traditional African rhythms, original compositions and contemporary arrangements. The band’s distinctive sound is created with authentic instruments brought from Africa, including djembe, dundun, balafons, kora (African harp), talking drum, bara, krin, carignian and shekere.

A Moribaya concert is a true journey to the roots of African rhythm — hypnotic drums, intricate polyrhythms, traditional melodies and songs sung in Bambara and Bwamu create an atmosphere that quickly transports the audience from the concert hall to the red earth beneath the shade of a baobab tree.

All members of the band sing, with Noums Dembele, originally from Burkina Faso, serving as the lead vocalist.

Come experience the rhythm, energy and spirit of West Africa with Moribaya – rhythm that brings people together across borders.
