The launch of the HOIZ project, marking the 10th anniversary of FestivALT, will take place in Kraków from 26 June to 5 July 2026. It will be both a return to our roots and a new beginning.
The programme – comprising concerts, theatre performances, artistic interventions, workshops, and walks – has been carefully curated from among dozens of projects presented, co-produced, and co-curated over the years.
Featured artists include singer and composer Maria Ka, jazz musician Mikołaj Trzaska, and theatre director Michał Zadara, among others.
This best of format is both a tribute to audiences familiar with FestivALT’s artistic vision – centred on critically engaged contemporary Jewish art – and an invitation to those who will be discovering our work for the first time.
Alongside this milestone anniversary, the new direction has been inspired by a growing need to foster communities and create safe spaces. These changes have also been significantly shaped by FestivALT’s receiving this year the distinguished title of Social Cultural Institution of the City of Kraków, as well as by the implementation of the HOIZ / Home. An Intimate Space for Contemporary Artistic and Minority Practices project.
Most events will take place there – in warm, atmospheric, and intimate home-like venues in the Dietla and Józefińska areas – the very places where the idea of FestivALT was born and where the HOIZ program will be developed.
