Scarlatti and Szymanowski, Chopin and Schönberg… During Pianophonies, we will see and hear the piano in various contexts and guises. Among the festival's distinguished guests are Ronan O'Hora – an artist associated with the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, who will open the festival with a cross-section of works from Papa Haydn to the father of dodecaphony – and Bronisław Kawalla, who will lead a master class for students of the Academy of Music in Kraków. The program also includes evenings entitled Form, Style, Expression: Beethoven – Rossini – Liszt and student performances of Szymanowski! and Scarlatti! The event will conclude with a recital by Katarzyna Drogosz entitled Mozart – Four Generations: works by the most famous member of the family, Wolfgang Amadeus, his father Leopold, his son Franz Xaver, and the latter's student Julia Baroni-Cavalcabó.
