An incredible opportunity for theatre lovers - in the space of a single afternoon and evening, they can see several performances completely free of charge. There are plenty of options, but (unfortunately!) one cannot be in several places at the same time. Audiences can look forward to seeing a dozen or so established Krakow theatres, as well as dozens of independent venues.
The Ludowy Theatre is staging no fewer than four productions, including What’s Eating Gilbert Grape and A Streetcar Named Desire, the Słowacki Theatre offers The Magical Wound and The Island, whilst Stary Theatre recommends Close Your Eyes, Nel. In the Desert and the Wilderness – Epilogue and Still Lifes; Groteska Theatre presents Staś Wyspiański’s Stained Glasses and Metamorphoses; Variété Theatre is staging SIX; Bagatela will be showcasing Mayday odNowa and Piosenki odnowa; Barakah will perform Persona K2, the Nowy Proxima Theatre will present Dorian Gray, STU has opted to show The Company Thanks You, KTO will show Café Luna and The Ball, and Cracovia Danza will showcase Dancing with the Passing Days, based on Andrzej Wajda’s play. The organisers encourage you to attend the outdoor performances, which will take place at various locations including Wolnica Square, Podgórski Square, and the outdoor spaces of Białoprądnicki Manor, the Salt Storehouse and the Supernova Stage. Free passes are required to attend indoor performances; outdoor performances are open to all.
