The Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków presents a concert of guitar compositions by Aleksander Tansman—solo and chamber—on the 40th anniversary of the composer's death (21 February, 6pm). His guitar music, created primarily through collaboration with legendary guitarist Andrés Segovia, has earned a permanent place in the canon of 20th-century European guitar literature, as one of its greatest treasures. The concert is a tribute that the young artists—AMKP students—wish to pay to the composer and an invitation to a reflective encounter with his music.
