This meeting of Sinfonietta Cracovia's star-studded series will be marked by versatility – we will be joined by pianist Andrzej Jagodziński, and the joint project of the legend of Polish jazz and the Kraków orchestra will combine folk, classical and jazz elements. The Polish Music programme features pieces based on Polish folklore (including traditional melodies such as Matulu moja and Krywań) along with jazz (Krzysztof Komeda's Svantetic) in specially arranged elaborate forms developed using classical means of composition: leitmotif transformations, motifs and counterpoint. The patron of the project is Fryderyk Chopin himself, with a selection of his preludes and etudes. Andrzej Jagodziński will perform with Adam Cegielski (double bass) and Czesław Bartkowski (drums), with guest singer Agnieszka Wilczyńska, along with Sinfonietta Cracovia led by Przemysław Zych.
