A mystical handpan, a one-man multi-percussion set, and a journey back to Kraków’s chivalric past. Add an armour and artefacts showcase and a story about forest — at Strzelnica na Woli it will resonate, shimmer, and… rustle like the heart of the woods.
We invite you to a unique meeting of sound and history as part of the Shared Resonances (Wspólne Brzmienia) series. This evening we’ll hear original music by Piotr "Gudar" Król — a Kraków-based multi-instrumentalist who builds his concerts around handpans (with their hypnotic, “mystical” tone) while simultaneously performing on percussion instruments such as the djembe and cajón. Shakers, cymbals, and a gong will also appear on stage.
Inspirations? The Middle Ages and fantasy — music that can carry listeners into a story: from battles, through dark forests, to vast deserts.
And that’s not all: Piotr has been involved in medieval historical reenactment for years (armour, bow, the realities of chivalry), and professionally he works as a forester — which is why the programme will also include an armour and artefacts display and a story about forest.
