Scientists insist that the Mozart effect - the improvement of one’s intellectual abilities due to classical music - is nothing but a myth due to its minuscule impact and short-lived nature. In Poland, we can now observe a different effect, and it seems to be holding up well for the time being. Even though the Chopin Competition is over, the interest in the Polish composer's works and the popularity of its participants have not waned. It is therefore no coincidence that the series of concerts and recitals organised across Poland is titled The Chopin Effect. The Kraków concert will feature the winner of the prize for the best performance of mazurkas and one of the audience favourites, Yehuda Prokopowicz. We will also listen to Antoni Kłeczek, winner of the 3rd Prize of the Frédéric Chopin National Piano Competition and Andrzej Wierciński, who has already competed in the international Chopin Competition three times, including in the semi-finals back in 2021.
