All the songs incorporated into the plot of Anna Burzyńska’s new play come from Pedro Almodóvar’s films, as these were the Spanish director’s early works that she mostly drew inspiration from. The protagonists of Café Luna are four lonely women who meet every evening in the rather shabby, eponymous pub. The topic of their conversation is love. Is it only about affection for a man? Probably not, because, according to the creators of the performance: “love – when it’s true – ignore gender and nullifies all divisions.”
