Silent Night was first performed in 1818. According to historians, it has been recorded more than 137,000 times since the beginning of the 20th century and its text has been translated into some three hundred languages. In 1937, a chapel was built in the Austrian village of Oberndorf bei Salzburg to commemorate the song, and in 2011 it was added to the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. The title of the famous carol is also the source of the name of the festival showcasing the most beautiful carols and Christmas songs. The cosy, warm evening filled with memories and music will feature Stanisław Słowiński performing with his quintet, the InfraArt ensemble and the invited guests - Joanna Słowińska, Aga Zaryan, Jagoda Kudlińska and Wojciech Cugowski. The setting of the concert and the presented music will combine tradition and modernity. The walls of the medieval church of St Catherine will be filled with songs in festive renditions, while visuals will evoke the atmosphere of Christmas half a century ago.
