During the anniversary edition of the event, which brings together all institutions training church musicians in the Kraków Archdiocese, we will focus on the organ - an instrument that became inextricably linked with the liturgy of the Mass and sacred music. The capabilities of the instrument at the St. Mary’s Basilica will be showcased by Witold Zalewski, organist of the Wawel Cathedral, who will present a very Cracovian programme, featuring works by former organists of the churches of St Anne and St Florian, as well as Aleksander Namysłowski’s ‘Wawel’ Fantasy)to mark 30 years of his artistic and liturgical work. We will also listen to instruments at the shrines of Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn, Norbertine Church and the Church of St Joseph in Bieńczyce (to mark the 40th anniversary of the foundation of the parish) and the Shrine of St John Paul II. As every year, Vespers to St Cecilia, patron saint of church music, who is remembered on 22 November, will be celebrated during the festival.
