Władysław Żeleński was a Polish composer, pianist, organist of St Mary’s Basilica, conductor, teacher. He initiated the establishing of the Conservatory of the Kraków Music Society which he managed until his death in 1921. On the 140th anniversary of the debut of Żeleński's opera Konrad Wallenrod, the Kraków Philharmonic recalls the work that premiered in 1885 in L'vov.
