A small fishing village, the sound of the ocean, the smell of salt in the air and the music coming from the tavern – would you also like to be there on the threshold of your holiday? We are taken on a journey to Spain by the Kraków Philharmonic, which traditionally offers music from the Iberian Peninsula at the end of the season. This time we will hear La tabernera del puerto (1936) – Pablo Sorozábal’s most popular zarzuela. One of the last creators of this so strongly Spanish musical form skilfully combined dramatic flair, humour and expressive characters with brilliant music that lingers in the memory – such as the famous tenor romanza No puede ser.
