The director Krzysztof Kieślowski found the inspiration for Camera Buff – considered to be a landmark work in his career – at the review of amateur films in Krakow in 1977, where he met Franciszek Dzida. His fate fascinated Kieślowski to such an extent that he became the prototype for the main character of the film – Filip Mosz, a supply worker at the factory near Krakow, who bought an amateur camera to immortalise moments with his newborn daughter (part of the film was shot in Krakow). This production will be revisited during a review of Kieślowski’s films at the Agrafka Cinema. The programme will also include, among others, The Three Colours trilogy, A Short Film About Killing, The Scar, No End and Blind Chance. Selected films will be screened with English subtitles.
