The idea for the musical project combining the styles and instrumentation of Andalusia and India came from Michał Czachowski. This Polish guitarist, specialising in flamenco music, has been the leader of an international band performing and recording under the name Indialucia for more than 25 years. This successful cultural fusion plays out at the level of the musicians themselves and the understanding between them, but also brings out a new musical quality and energy from both traditions, where improvisation and rhythm are the common denominator. Musicians from Poland, Italy, Spain and India (Michał Czachowski – guitar, Leo Vertunni – sitar, Isaac Peña González – cajón and Manish Madankar – tabla) also open up to other influences, willingly inviting guests to participate in concerts and recordings. This approach allows the band to enrich their sound with piano, bass guitar, flute or even… a symphony orchestra, as well as dance performances. The band has released two award-winning albums Indialucia and Acatao, toured in dozens of countries around the world and performed with world music and jazz stars. This time they will play at the Strefa Nowa club.
