Even one piano can sound like an entire symphony orchestra, let alone when there are two pianos or two pianists sitting at one keyboard! This is the essence of the Duettissimo festival organised by the Krakow Academy of Music. This year, the potential of this unusual chamber ensemble will be revealed to us by the French duo Jatekok, who like surprising us with experiments (the duo performed as a support act for Rammstein and recorded an album of their hits), but this time they choose the classics: Berlioz, Saint-Saëns, Dukas and Liszt. Listeners will be charmed with Mozart's music by Marcus Schirner and Giuliano Adorno, who will perform alongside the festival orchestra and the excellent French conductor Marie Jacquot in the Concerto in E flat major for two KV 365 pianos. The Chopin Piano Duo and Hanna Kulenty’s SurVanTutti for piano four-hands and chamber orchestra. In addition to stars’ concerts, Duettissimo also includes a scientific conference, masterclasses and many other events – always for four hands or two pianos!
