Premiere at the Kraków Opera!
The pyramids, the Pharaoh’s court, the three of them torn between love on the one hand and duty and loyalty to their homeland and family on the other hand, and rousing music to boot – well, we have a recipe for a hit! Aida, Giuseppe Verdi’s monumental opera that has been in the absolute top of the world’s stages for more than 150 years, appears on the stage of the Kraków Opera in March. The creators of this premiere staging want the story set in the scenery of ancient Egypt to resonate with echoes of contemporary dilemmas. They emphasise that the message of the masterpiece is universal: "It is an opera about the choices that shape human life, the price of freedom and the power of love that can transcend the boundaries of time and space."
