The tradition of the Epiphany procession is based on the Gospel story of the Wise Men from the East led by the Star of Bethlehem. In Kraków, they guide their footsteps from various parts of the city to the Market Square, where the kings worship the newborn Jesus on the stage under the City Hall tower. All the while, they are followed by carolling Kraków inhabitants and tourists. The event culminates in a concert of Christmas songs performed by popular artists of the Kraków stages. The 2025 procession is held under the motto: ‘Bow down, kings!’ Taken from a traditional Polish pastoral song.
