UFO Art Gallery invites you to a solo show of Jósefina Alanko.
Jósefina Alanko - a Finnish artist originally from North Karelia. She graduated from Kankaanpää Art School in 2018, and meanwhile studied visual arts and architecture at Universidad Europea in Madrid from 2016 to 2017. She developed her skills during numerous artist residencies, including at Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, The Finnish Artists' Studio Foundation in Italy and The Hug Residence in Madrid. She currently lives and works in Vienna. Alanko won the top prize in the STRABAG Artaward International competition in 2023. Her works have been presented in prestigious institutions in Poland, such as the Municipal Art Gallery in Lodz and the Office of Art Exhibitions in Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski. In the artist's works based on the use of natural fabrics, we can often find references to her native Finnish culture, which resonates in an abstract way in the artworks she creates.
