The KEF Means Fun! project was created with the youngest visitors to the Galicia Jewish Museum in mind: it’s a place to discover the richness and diversity of Jewish culture. The project includes an exhibition, a board game and a multimedia game.

Opening of the new permannet exhibition on Sunday, 8 December 2024 at 4pm.

Through these various elements, young visitors – preschoolers and children in the early primary grades – can discover and learn basic concepts related to Judaism and Jewish tradition, Jewish history, and the life of Jewish communities in Poland today, especially in Kraków. The authors reach back into history and tell about the past, but above all they emphasize the present – the life of the Jewish community in Kraków today.

The exhibition is small, but full of surprises. It consists of several parts, each of them presenting one subject in an accessible way: from the Hebrew alphabet, to the history of Kraków's Kazimierz District and people associated with it such as. Sara Szenirer, as well as symbols important in Jewish culture and synagogue furnishings, to the Jewish calendar and holidays. It also contains additional materials and tasks to complete: you can write your name in Hebrew letters, arrange the furnishings of the synagogue, or solve puzzles. The exhibition gallery is also a friendly educational space where workshops and meetings are held. The exhibition is made more accessible thanks to an audio guide and audio descriptions.

The content presented in the KEF Means Fun! exhibition has been adapted and expanded in a digital version. A multimedia game was created in cooperation with the Ale Granda agency in the form of an interactive digital map of Kazimierz. By meeting historical and contemporary figures, performing tasks and solving puzzles, users can learn about various aspects of Jewish history and culture at their own pace.

The exhibition is also accompanied by the educational board game Next Year in Kraków, created in cooperation with the Nausika Foundation and the Mifgash Foundation. It allows players to learn about the annual cycle of Jewish holidays and discover the heritage and contemporary lives of Jewish communities in Poland.
