How can you impart your knowledge to a student without limiting his or her artistic invention? How can you draw on your teacher’s experience while retaining an individual touch in your work? The answers to these questions are provided by concerts of the autumn series Masters and Their Students. This year’s masters will be: Marek Stachowski, an outstanding composer whose work reflects the history of Polish music in the second half of the 20th century (he died 20 years ago), and Magdalena Długosz – one of Poland’s main creators of electroacoustic music, who is celebrating her 70th birthday. We will listen not only to the professors’ works but also those of their students dedicated to their masters: Mateusz Bień and Maciej Jabłoński (from the class of Prof. Stachowski) and Zofia Dowgiałło and Piotr Roemer (from the class of Prof. Długosz).
