November at the Kraków Philharmonic is marked by the commemoration of Krzysztof Penderecki – a composer and conductor, one of the greatest creators of Polish culture, who would have celebrated his 91st birthday on 23 November. The special anniversary concert at the Philharmonic will feature a performance by Lithuanian pianist Mūza Rubackytė. We will hear her in the solemn and dramatic Piano Concerto "Resurrection" (inspired by the 11th September attacks), which the composer often invited the Lithuanian artist to perform. The programme for the evening in the hall of the Kraków Philharmonic will be complemented by Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8 in G major performed by the Kraków Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Alexander Humala.
