Aleksandra Świgut, an award-winning pianist with an original style, will sit behind the keyboard during the Kraków Philharmonic Symphony Concert to present Beethoven’s Piano Concerto in G major No. 4. The work was premiered in 1808 by the composer himself, the concert saw Beethoven's last appearance as a soloist with orchestra. Today, the work is frequently recorded, and it is a favourite of concert audiences. It is also considered by many to be one of the pinnacles of the piano concerto repertoire. However, it os worth remembering that after its first performance, the piece was neglected until 1836, when it was revived by Felix Mendelssohn, another hero of the Kraków Philharmonic concert. His Symphony in A major No. 4 “Italian”, Op. 90, as well as other works from tonight’s repertoire will resound under the baton of Karen Kamensek.
