Music is the whole world to them. They express themselves through music. Lions World Song Festival for the Blind is a unique project with live concerts at the highest level, showing the talent and creativity of blind and visually impaired artists. During four editions in the years 2013–2019, 90 blind artists from 4 continents and 24 countries performed in Kraków: Argentina, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Gambia, Ghana, Georgia, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Lithuania, Morocco, Mexico, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Romania, Sweden, Slovakia, Ukraine and USA.
The Lions World Song Festival for the Blind brings together vocalists from all over the globe and – according to the organisers – “promotes awareness of the difficulties and needs of those with their sight impaired”. The laureates of the concert will take part in the gala and final concert (16 November) at the Kraków Opera. All participants will present a unique repertoire, featuring various musical styles, with the support of the arranger Ireneusz Boczek and the University of the National Education Commission Orchestra under the baton of Małgorzata Tęczyńska-Kęska.
