In autumn 2023, Teresa and Andrzej Starmach donated 67 works by the most important Polish contemporary artists to the MOCAK Collection – a significant part of their private collection, accumulated over many years. This is the most generous support for the art collection of Polish public institutions since the monumental donations by Karolina Lanckorońska and Feliks ‘Manggha’ Jasieński. The donation includes objects from the fields of painting, sculpture, installation and scenography, complementing our collections with works which are fundamental in Polish art history.
Following the premiere display of the donated works at the newly opened Bunkier Sztuki Gallery, a presentation was prepared a the MOCAK premises. It has been integrated into the existing exhibition of the MOCAK Collection. Among the works yiou are invited to see are some classics of Polish contemporary art, such as Embryology by Magdalena Abakanowicz and Edward Krasiński’s Labyrinth, as well as the works of notable artists associated with Krakow – Marek Chlanda, Piotr Lutyński and Grzegorz Sztwiertnia.
