Princess Marcelina Czartoryska received guests on Wednesdays, and those visiting her salon looked forward mainly to concerts performed by the hostess – an accomplished pianist and a pupil of Fryderyk Chopin himself. Music was the heroine of social gatherings also in other Kraków houses, e.g., those of Żeleński, Stojowski or Zoll families. The Kraków Music Salon refers to this popular 19th-century tradition of making music at home with family and friends. The eighth edition of the festival will focus on chamber music by Polish composers, including contemporary composers, so the programme will feature world premieres of works by Michał Moc, Andrzej Karałow, Anna Ignatowicz-Glińska or Alicja Gronau. They will be interpreted, among others, by mezzo-soprano Urszula Kryger, pianist Grzegorz Mania, violinists Jakub Jakowicz and Miranda Liu, cellists Magdalena Bojanowicz and Bartosz Koziak, and Książek Piano Duo and Airis String Quartet ensembles.
