A 17th-century church, seven concerts and only 30 minutes away from Krakow: we are at the Korzkiew Music Festival! The 12th edition of the event brings – for the first time in the festival's history – string quartets by baroque and classical composers performed on period instruments by Quartetto Nero. During the monographic concert commemorating the 175th anniversary of Fryderyk Chopin's death, Monika Paluch will play a set of his piano etudes. A selection of preludes by the Polish composer from Op. 28 and the cheerful, tuneful Ballade in A flat major will be performed by Mateusz Dubiel. In their final concert at the dawn of September, the Cracow Golden Quintet (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and French horn) will play, among other works, a composition by Franz Ignaz Danzi, one of the first to write for this chamber wind ensemble at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries.
