Tadeusz Gajcy, Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński, Krystyna Krahelska, Zbigniew Herbert, Stanisław Baliński and Andrzej Trzebiński - other than their literary talent, what they all have in common is the experience of defending Poland during World War II and their underground activities. Their lives will be presented at the exhibition hosted by the Home Army Museum, which will be an opportunity to learn about the lives and fates of lesser-known artists, including Jerzy Szewczyk, Grażyna Chrostowska, Ewa Pohoska and Zygmunt Jan Rumel. The visitors will see unique exhibits on loan from the Museum of Literature in Warsaw and the Warsaw Rising Museum, including manuscripts of Baczyński's poems, volumes published in the underground, Halina Bojarska's wedding ring with a fragment of the bullet that wounded Wacław Bojarski, as well as a manuscript by Witold Pilecki. The exhibition will be complemented by the poets’ works, which spoke of wartime hardships, but also of the hope of victory.
