Rebellion in the System. Musical Spaces of Freedom 1945–89

The Nowa Huta Museum casts a look at the communist era through a prism of music standing up to the system. From rock’n’roll, beatniks and punks to bands such as Melomani, T.Love, Alternative and Praffdata, from Kraków to the Baltic coast, from dreamy jazz sessions to the raucous Jarocin festival… The exhibition tells the story of music through posters, recordings, snaps, zines and instruments and associated artworks.
