The patrons of this year’s festival of 16th-century Italian comedy are Carlo Goldoni and Molière, so the programme cannot do without plays by these great masters of comedy.
Goldoni’s oeuvre will be represented by the STU Theatre’s latest premiere The Servant of Two Masters and A Curious Mishap of the Puppet and Mask Theatre in Słupsk. Molière’s masterpieces will include The Bourgeois Gentleman. Comédie-Ballet – a play honoured with the Stanisław Wyspiański Theatre Prize, staged by the Komedianty Troupe with the participation of the Cracovia Danza Ballet, and The Miser by the Groteska Theatre. The accompanying events will include workshops concluded with a concert and the vernissage of Izabella Czarnecka’s artworks presenting stage design projects as well as drawings and prints.
