One of the oldest and largest Jewish Culture festivals in the world, presenting contemporary Jewish culture from Israel and Diaspora, held in beautiful venues of Kraków's Jewish district of Kazimierz.

This year’s music programme of the Jewish Culture Festival includes not only 15 concerts, but also numerous music workshops and lectures on music – after all, there is the word ‘listen’ in this year's motto 'Shema Israel' (Listen Israel).

Main festival concerts will be held at the friendly Museum of Engineering and Technology.

Sunday, June 23rd

In the Festival Tent Maya Belsitzman and Matan Ephrat will play a concert to welcome the Shabbat (Frida, June28th, 21.00), Strauss Warschauer Duo (Sunday, June 30th, noon) – will perform classics of the Yiddish music and finally MLDVA will be the last act of the 33rd JCF (Sunday, June 30th, 21.00). Jarosław Bester will play his solo accordion recital in one of the Kazimierz’s synagogues (Saturday, June 29th, godz. 23.00).

In addition to above-mentioned concerts, the organisers also invite us to join music workshops: Yiddish singing with Jeff Warschauer, Yiddish music with Deborah Strauss, nigunim singing with Paweł Szamburski, K. Mołodowska song workshops with Sveta Kundush and Alan Bern, Jewish oriental music workshops with teachers of Maqamat school in Safed, Israel. Alchemia will host traditional jazz sessions, while the FKŻ Tent will host Polish and Israeli DJs.

You can also join the pioneering deep listening workshops. Together with Rafał Mazur you will learn to listen and hear the real sounds of Kazimierz in its characteristic locations (High Synagogue, Old Synagogue, Nowy Square) and at very unobvious times.

In addition, Michał Jaczyński will talk about Jewish music in the interwar period, which will provide an excellent context for Janek Młynarski’s Sunday concert of Hebrew tangos.
