This will be concert of astronomical dimensions! We will hear Dance of Celestial Spheres, composed by Adam Wesołowski – the director of the Silesian Philharmonic to celebrate 550th anniversary of birth of Nicolaus Copernicus, and the Angels Songs penned by the same author. The latter piece lasts as long as it takes the light to travel from the Sun to the Earth. The second part of the concert will be taken by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki’s vocal and instrumental Symphony No. 2 “Copernican” written on the famous astronomer’s 500th birth anniversary and containing excerpts from De revolutionibus orbium coelestium.
