Mozart, Strauss, the Alps and skiing – these are the most common associations we have when we think “Austria”. However here, in Kraków, our ties to Austria run deeper: to the times of partitions and the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria, also known as Austrian Galicia or Austrian Poland, as well as its traditions, reminiscences and sentiments. Our common history makes it natural to celebrate the Austrian National Day on 26 October to commemorate the day in 1955, when the Austrian Parliament passed the constitutional law on permanent neutrality.
On the Austrian National Day, the Kraków Philharmonic presents a concert of two Austrian artists: cellist Erich Oskar Hütter and guitarist Armin Egger.
