Cracovians are returning from holidays, kids are going back to school, and regular cultural events are also making a slow comeback. Everyone is recalling the hugely successful World Youth Day and Kraków’s great spiritual, social, organisational and promotional achievements noted the world over. Perhaps the most inspiring sight were the tens of thousands of pilgrims who left the city with the warmest, most joyful memories. We’re sure they’ll visit again for more good vibrations!
And there are more outdoor events coming up to make the most of the glorious Indian summer, and Kraków’s cultural life is gathering pace for the season ahead: Theatre Night acts as a bridge between the charm of summertime programmes, frequently staged in the city’s green spaces, and the start of more hardcore repertoires. After a quiet holiday period, the ICE Kraków Congress Centre is going full steam ahead with concerts held as part of the ICE Classic and ICE Jazz cycles promising an exciting season. Autumn (let’s not be afraid of the word!) is almost here, but for us it means the Krakow Jazz Autumn – a feast for all fans of avant-garde sounds – and the Podgórze Cultural Autumn, revealing the secrets of this less well-known Kraków district with a proud identity and heritage. And of course the Sacrum Profanum festival is almost here: September brings an exhibition prelude, with the main events starting in early October.
