Jan A.P. Kaczmarek is celebrated during cinematic spring in Kraków. One of the most acclaimed and highly-awarded Polish composers of film music, he celebrates his 70th birthday this year. Awarded an Oscar for his soundtrack for Finding Neverland, the composer will receive an accolade as part of a wide-reaching project organised by Kraków’s institutions and festivals. On 29 April, Kaczmarek’s birthday, the Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology launches the exhibition Jan A.P. Finding Neverland.
The co-production of the Krakow Festival Office reaches for state-of-the-art formats such as mapping, audiovisual essays and a rich audiosphere. The exhibition presents previously unseen documents, music scores, instruments, photos and memorabilia, music for films and theatre performances and independent compositions.
