From its first edition in 2019, Royal Opera Festival has taken Gioacchino Rossini, the Italian master of belcanto, as its patron and the centre point of the event. One of the main goals of the festival is to present Rossini’s less well-known works.

Therefore, the 2023 edition brings a farsa in one act Signor Bruschino penned for Teatro San Moisè in Venice and cantata Il vero omaggio. The programme also includes Giovanni Pacini’s opera Gli Arabi nelle Gallie and chamber music by Arriaga, Turina and Bretón performed by Bretón String Quartet. The festival will be rounded off by the always amusing immortal Il barbiere di Siviglia.
