Rae Armantrout will read selected poems in the original, including works from her latest volume Finalists. The meeting will be held in Polish and English.
The meeting will be attended by the Polish translator of Rae Armantrout's poetry, Kacper Bartczak, and the discussion will be moderated by Michal Choinski.
Rae Armantrout – an American poet whose work is associated with the West Coast Linguistic Poets group. She is the author of 15 volumes of poetry, including Versed (2009), which won the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award, Wobble (2018), which was a finalist for the National Book Award, and the volume Conjure (2020), which was a finalist for the PEN Literary Award. Her latest poetry volume is Finalists (2022). Armantrout's poems have appeared in The London Review of Books, The New Yorker, American Scholar and The Paris Review, among others. Academically, she is affiliated with the University of California, San Diego, where she has taught poetry for twenty years and directs the New Writing Series program.
