A melodious voice and an hourglass figure… Well, we are not sexists, we are just announcing the 10th Kraków Cello Spring with this remarkable instrument being the main character of the event. The Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków has prepared an array of interesting concerts including the guest performance of the Częstochowa Philharmonic Orchestra (Dvořák and Penderecki); Progressive strings Vienna project focused on spontaneity and improvisation in jazz and rock aesthetics; Chopin’s mazurkas, nocturnes and preludes in the rendition of Polish Cello Quartet; Only Cello! – THE BEST OF with music from Rossini to Pirates of the Caribbean; and the Fred Katz Project devoted to the jazz cello pioneer. Thanks to the Erasmus programme, Kraków’s event will be a meeting place for students from seven European artistic universities.
