As a three-year-old she attended a music school. At the age of four, she was already playing the violin, and just before the age of five she gave her first concert. When she was 20, she won the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Violin Contest. The Kraków Philharmonic proudly presents their distinguished guest: Latvian violinist, Baiba Skride. The artist will present what surely is one of the last century’s truly great concertos: Béla Bartók’s Violin Concerto No. 2. The Kraków Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Alexander Humala will complement the programme with works by Szymanowski and Dvořák to form an evening devoted to the composers born and raised in the Central Europe.
