For the sixth time, Polish Chamber Musicians' Association welcomes to the Jan Matejko House – a branch of the National Museum in Krakow for a unique festival. Outstanding performers, masterpieces of chamber music, and this year also premieres of new works! From 5 to 29 September, six concerts and two lectures will present concert customs, the works of underestimated, forgotten composers and the profiles of important figures in Krakow and Polish artistic life.

Since its beginnings the goal of the festival has been among others restoring the memory of the tradition of music salons, vivid in the 19th century. It is no coincidence that an important theme of the festival is the practice of home and salon music, popular in the 19th century, which in Krakow was not only an element of cultural life, but also created a space for the free development of national creativity, maintaining traditions, and performing jointly. It was also a manifestation of social self-organization, then developed in the form of music societies and subscription concerts. In the era of non-statehood, the salon was an active form of preserving cultural identity.

Concerts held live and rebroadcast on Polish Chamber Musicians' Association's YouTube channel. Admission to all concerts is free, however free entry cards apply [CLICK].
