The world’s oldest active boys’ choir is the Regensburger Domspatzen at Regensburg and was founded in… 975! Later on, boys’choirs, as a Western World cultural tradition, developed in the Middle Ages and have been a popular singing formation ever since.
The Kraków Philharmonic proudly presents its boys’choir celebrating 70 years in 2022, and the 2nd installment of the Boys’ Choir Festival. The concerts will resound at the beautiful churches in Małpolska: in Zakopane, Tarnów, Olkusz, Nowy Sącz and Wadowice thanks to the choirs from all over Poland: Płock, Biała Podlaska, Częstochowa, Poznań, Inowrocław, Kraków, Tarnów. Kraków hosts the Choir Night on 30 July (with international guests from Hungary and Belarus). The final concert of the festival will take place at the Kraków Philharmonic featuring Pueri et Puellae Cantores Plocenses and Boys and Men Poznań Cathedral Choir.
