The enthronement of the Fowler King is one of Kraków’s earliest traditions, dating back around 600 years! On 4 June, during the colourful celebrations at the Main Market Square, the outgoing monarch hands over a silver cock – symbol of his authority and the most valuable treasure of the Fowler Brotherhood – to his successor, selected through a shooting competition.
