On 25th June, Krakow will be filled with flowers and music. The main stages of Wianki – Fête de la Musique will be located in three different parts of the city: on the Main Market Square, at Powiśle street and on the Krakus Mound. The program includes also a series of concerts under the Street Music cycle and activities planned in the Wesoła district.

This year’s Wianki festival lays emphasis on folk music, sound traditions and their rediscovery as part of a broader trend of identity search in Poland and around the world. It will also be an opportunity to confront traditional music with contemporary alternative, electronica and pop music. The rich program of stages on the Main Market Square and at Powiśle, a magical event on the Krakus Mound, where we will hear songs from the Polesie region saved from oblivion at sunrise, and a series of concerts under the Street Music cycle will take us on a real music journey around Kraków. This year, among others, MargaretKapela ze Wsi Warszawa and Ifi Ude will perform. Apart from that, the artistic and panel line-up will be joined by Ukrainian performers, including singer Alina Pash, as well as DJs: ShjvaAzazazarova and Nuarrrrr.

But Wianki is not only concerts! It also consists of workshops, panels, meetings, silent disco, events at Wesoła and an obligatory contest for the most beautiful garland. Like other events, the panel segment will be available for free. In the Potocki Palace, we will meet representatives of the music and lifestyle industry to talk about concert prospects in Eastern Europe, femininity or stories told by folk music. There will also be workshops for kids and a relaxation zone.

This year we will particularly try to ensure that everyone feels safe and welcome in Krakow. We are preparing conveniences for participants with disabilities. During the concert on the Main Market Square, an induction loop intended for deaf and hearing-impaired persons will be located in the availability zone. Polish Sign Language interpreters will also be present on the spot. In the relaxation zone at Wawel, PSL interpreters will accompany participants of the contest for the most beautiful garland or workshops for children, and members of the Deaf Senior Club will conduct handicraft activities.

All events of the Wianki festival are free of charge; in order to attend them, you only have to get an entrance pass. The distribution of entrance passes will start via KBF:PLUS app on 8th June. From 10th June, they will be available also on the KBF:BILETY page.
