Cracow Art Week KRAKERS is entering the second decade of its activity. Last year's 10th anniversary inspired the organizers to choose a theme that would be associated with a new opening and a bold look into the future. Thus, the theme of the 11th edition is: “We are multitude”.

Multitude has been with us from the very first edition and it is presented in the program of the event. It manifests itself in the idea of open access: open and free access, inviting academic and experimental entities as well as conservative and progressive ones and also - openness and diversity which are the fundamental ideas of the project. From the very beginning, the event has been inspiring the contemporary art community to open up to a wide audience, to show the multitude of points of view, thoughts, ideas and concepts. During this time KRAKERS became the largest event of this type in Poland, with the most diverse program focusing on making what is most up-to-date and valuable in Polish visual arts more accessible. Organizing KRAKERS in such an important cultural center as Krakow, we manage the entire artistic scene of the city with its diversity for a week.

Nearly 50 entities participate in the Main Program: both galleries with a long tradition and unusual locations in art studios, pubs, basements, attics, yards of tenement houses and abandoned villas. The confirmed places include: Art Agenda Nova, BWA ZBK, CCA Wiewiórka, Elementarz dla mieszkańców miast, Śladowski Gallery, Jan Fejkiel Gallery, RG29 Studio and Skład Solny Gallery. Hundreds of artists and curators are involved in the exhibitions, including: Xavery Deskur, Rom Dziadkiewicz, Justyna Gryglewicz, Julia Jarża, Stanisław Koba, Szymon Kobylarz, Katarzyna Kukuła, Piotr Lutyński, Marta Niedbał, Alicja Pakosz, Cyryl Polaczek, Arkadiusz Półtorak, Adam Rzepecki, Dominik Stanisławski, Radek Szlęzak and Weronika Szmuc.

Foreign artists will also present their work, for example at the GIRLS + EGGS exhibitions at C U AT SADKA or the "Tomorrow" Flag at Utopia Home. As part of I have dreamed of Europe (Art Agenda Nova), Marta Romankiv will refer to her own experience of migration and attempts to integrate into the European community, as well as the efforts of the Ukrainian community to become a part of the European one. There will also be Ukrainian motifs in the hybrid #StreamArtStudio with their International Green School or Cybernetic Location 2.0, as the project is related to, among others, UKRAiNATV integrating people from Ukraine with the Krakow culture-creating environment.

The Partner Program was created in cooperation with the Pedagogical University and brings together the events of the Faculty of Art in the City 10 festival. Their range is very diverse and will include concerts, VJ sets, exhibitions, film screenings, show off design or the Poster Challenge. Everything prepared by students, graduates and lecturers of the Faculty of Art of the Pedagogical University in Krakow.

As part of the Accompanying Program, KRAKERS participants will also be able to take part in dedicated author or curatorial guided tours at cultural institutions, Kultour walks among Krakow galleries and districts, meetings and lectures. On Saturday, June 11, as part of the annual Artist Talk, a meeting with one of the most controversial artists of the young generation - Ada Karczmarczyk, also known as ADU, will be held in the Panoramic Hall of the ICC (International Cultural Center). On the same day, at Podbrzezie Gallery of the Pedagogical University, there will be a lecture A few words on the appropriation art by a director and a screenwriter Marcin Korneluk, on the limits of copyright. There will also be activities for the youngest in the form of Artmine art workshops or ”Walking Detective” activities by Fishka Kraków Tours.

Cracow Art Week KRAKERS 2022 project: We Are Multitude is co-financed by the city of Kraków. More information about the event is available at www.cracowartweek.pl and in social media: FB @cracowartweek, IG @cracowartweek.
